Eastleigh based and Winchester born professional racing driver, Shane Kelly, 36, is the 2006 Club F3 Champion. Experienced in racing as a professional driver, Kelly has a long-established career in motorsports.

Having completed his first season as mentor for the University of Wolverhampton Race Team (UWR), he has spent valuable time passing on his experience to students studying engineering and motorsports degrees whilst at the same time offering them a real insight into the motorsports industry.

Shane's role in the team is to mentor the students and get them to work together as a Formula team would - from learning specialist aspects of the car through to the importance of teamwork and time-keeping.  As a result, last season UWR came 4th in the Monoposto 2000 Championship in a Formula Renault 2.0 and the team achieved podiums and wins at world-famous tracks like Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Spa-Francorchamps.

As well as working with a film company featuring in box-office hits such as Rush, Fury and MTV series Plain Jane, Shane has recently featured in the new Jaguar Land Rover advert that sponsors Sky TV Series 'You, Me and the Apocalypse'.

Kelly also works as an Instructor at Goodwood Motor Circuit where earlier this year he had the opportunity to accompany Prince Harry around the classic circuit. In addition to this Shane spent a few weeks in Abu Dhabi where he took part in their Arms Show as a precision driver.

With a real passion for the industry, coupled with a winning career in motorsports, Shane moved into the education sector to pass on his knowledge to students who aspire to work in the industry, helping to nurture their ambitions to grow and evolve.
