Bishop Set for Battle

The second 2018 F3 Cup driver to be announced is Tony Bishop, poised for his seventh season in the championship.

Another returning regular, Tony Bishop becomes the second driver to be announced for the 2018 F3 Cup season.

Tony has been a staunch supporter of the championship since its infancy, and will return with CF Racing.

Tony enjoyed early success in the Monoposto championship, splitting his time between Monoposto and F3 Cup for a time, before deciding to focus on Formula 3. He soon became a regular in the top ten, and armed with his trusty Dallara F305/7, was a key contributor to both Omicron Motorsport’s 2012 and Chris Dittmann Racing’s 2015 Teams’ Championship titles. In 2016, his fourth year with Dittmann’s eponymous squad, a podium finish at Donington Park was the high point on the way to yet another top ten championship finish.

2017 started with Team Fox Racing in his F311 Honda, and ended with CF Racing and Mercedes power at Oulton Park. Results over the year were more of a mixed bag, but this can of course be attributed to settling into both a new car and a new team. Nonetheless, Tony’s persistence saw him finish eighth overall and well placed for a strong season this year. In fact, Tony now holds the rare honour of sharing in no less than three Teams' Championship titles after CF Racing's victory last year.

F3 Cup’s 2018 season kicks off at the revamped Donington Park circuit on 21-22 April. Regular driver announcements will be made in the lead up to the first rounds, so be sure to keep an eye on the refreshed F3 Cup website and social media channels for all the latest news.
