CF Racing triumphs in Norfolk

After a gloriously sunny Sunday lunch break, F3 Cup was tasked with rousing the spectators at Snetterton and the roar of Formula 3 engines was guaranteed to do just that.

After the excitement at the end of race two, it was Jacopo Sebastiani on pole again, alongside Shane Kelly. Another clean start for the grid, Stuart Wiltshire was particularly impressive, quickly moving up to second from his fourth place start.

Contact brought Kelly back to the pits after lap one, but the University of Wolverhampton Race Team cleared him to rejoin. Wade Eastwood, clearly eager to make up for a poor points haul on Saturday, wasted no time pressuring Wiltshire for second, with George Line, Cian Carey, Robbie Watts, Gino Ussi and Oliver Sirrell in pursuit.

A three-way battle quickly developed between team mates Wiltshire, Eastwood and Line, with the trio running three abreast corner after corner. Eastwood tried to get past at Nelson a couple of times, but couldn't quite make it stick. This of course allowed Sebastiani to stretch out a commanding lead, and allowed Watts in fifth to catch the fight as well.

Eventually Eastwood would get past Wiltshire, and set about catching Sebastiani. He closed the gap significantly, but the rapidly advancing race clock would prevent him challenging for the win. As the top three spread out, Line in fourth refused to give up, clinging to the back of Wiltshire's car ready to take advantage of even the smallest mistake.

As the flag fell, the podium would be a CF Racing lock-out - Sebastiani taking a hat-trick of wins this weekend, followed by Eastwood and Wiltshire. The Sunoco Fastest Lap Award went to Jacopo Sebastiani, who beat Wade Eastwood to the honours by just 0.004s!

Speaking after the race, Sebastiani said, "I couldn't have asked for anything more, absolutely fantastic. The car has been phenomenal, the team is unbelievable. Hywel [CF Racing Team Manager] is a star!"

Eastwood commented, "A tough weekend, but the team did a great job. Stuart [Wiltshire] made it hard for me!"

In his typical style, Wiltshire observed, "Apparently he [Eastwood] hit a hard rock, the damage to his front wing was from a hard rock, but after that rock got hit I had a bit of a vibration from my rear wheel! But it was fun, I'm really pleased, it's been a great weekend."
