Chris Dittmann Racing commits future to F3 Cup

05/12/2011 Chris Dittmann Racing are the latest team to commit their immediate future to the 2012 F3 Cup.

05/12/2011 - Chris Dittmann Racing are the latest team to commit their immediate future to the F3 Cup with the announcement they intend to field two cars in the championship next season.

The Tewkesbury-based team run by racer Chris Dittmann has confirmed Prajesh Shah will fill one of the seats as part of a multi-year effort to win the F3 Cup, which has just received outline approval for championship status from the MSA.

Dittmann, who is best known for his performances in the BTCC supporting Ginetta G50 Cup, was impressed by the F3 Cup after making an appearance on the grid at Silverstone this year, and believes the new championship harbours real potential to help develop young drivers as well as experienced racers.

Chris Dittmann, team owner said: "We want to commit our future to the F3 Cup as I think with the new championship status it is moving in the right direction. We want to be in the F3 Cup for multiple years as a team because I think the championship has great potential.

"It's a stepping stone for different kinds of drivers whether it is someone in their early career coming from karting or the experienced racer. It can be costly to race in Formula Ford and Formula Renault which is what is so attractive about the F3 Cup because drivers get to race in spectacular F3 cars at a fraction of the cost."

Prajesh Shah, a newcomer to motor racing, raced a Formula Vauxhall Junior last year in the Monoposto Championship with success and is looking forward to taking on the challenge of F3 machinery with Chris Dittmann Racing.

Shah said: "I am very excited about joining the 2012 MSVR F3 Cup next year. It is a championship that is fast becoming more competitive and respected in British Motorsport, and so will provide a great platform on which to gain recognition from in my still early career.

"I think I speak for the whole CDR (Chris Dittmann Racing) team when I say that we are all looking forward to next year with great anticipation. We have had some very solid initial winter testing on which to build on in the New Year, and though nothing is taken for granted, there is a very positive atmosphere within the whole team."
