Terry eager to tame legendary Belgian circuit

Mark Terry admits learning to drive Spa is a tough but rewarding task

09/06/2011 - MSV F3 Cup driver Mark Terry admits learning the Spa Francorchamps circuit is proving a tough task, but he cannot wait to race at the famous venue.

The Lanan Racing driver has endured a difficult start to the season, but he heads into the latest round at the physically demanding Belgian circuit in form, after two top-six finishes at Snetterton 300 last month. However, with this being his first trip to track, he is not setting himself any targets.

Terry's season has been one of contrast beginning with an unfortunate accident at Snetterton, which forced him out of the following meeting at Donington Park. Since returning to the track, he has hit form finishing fifth and sixth at the last meeting at Snetterton 300, but he faces a stern test for a top-six result this weekend.

He said: "It's a huge challenge. There is so much time to find and many corners to learn around this fantastic circuit. I've still got some pace to find. In practice, it has been hard to find a clear lap so far because of the amount of cars competing. But racing at Spa is certainly one of the highlights of the season. I love racing at my home track Brands Hatch, but Spa is a fantastic circuit."
