20/03/2011 - MSV F3 Cup competitors are being offered the opportunity to compete at the 2012 Sunoco Rolex 24 at Daytona race, following the launch of the new Sunoco GRAND-AM 200 Challenge.

The initiative, launched by Sunoco to give more racers the opportunity to race at the world-renowned Daytona circuit, offers the ultimate prize of a race seat in the Continental Series GS class in the GRAND-AM 200 race at the same race weekend as the landmark Rolex 24 endurance race.

Included in the prize is travel, hotel and the cost of the seat - so the only thing that the winner has to do is to bring his helmet and overalls! The driver who wins the challenge will be racing in an American muscle car such as a V8 powered Chevrolet Camero. This contest will run alongside the Sunoco Daytona Challenge, a competition where drivers in Sunoco-fuelled series racing in Europe can win the change to pilot a Daytona Prototype in the 24 hour headline event.

MSV F3 Cup competitors will be up against an estimated total of 175 drivers to win the prize drive including drivers from MSVR's GT Cup and MINI Challenge.

The points are awarded exactly as per the Sunoco Daytona Challenge, meaning that the racer gets points for pole position, fastest lap and race result. Due to the different number of races per series in a year all points are divided by the number of races in the year in the respective series to create a fair average point per race score.
