Steele on pole for Race one

01/05/2011 - Aaron Steele takes pole position from Louis Hamilton-Smith and Alex Craven for Race one of the F3 Cup at Snetterton.
The early stages saw Alex Craven take an immediate advantage with a 1.52.876 but his time was quickly beaten by Steele with a 1.51.549. Steele kept improving and ended the session with an impressive 1.45.558 to take pole position.
Alex Craven looked set to line up next to Steele on the front row until with one and a half minutes left of the session Louis Hamilton pumped in a 1.47.253 narrowly beating Craven's 1.47.596 by just over three tenths of a second.
Matt Draper completes the second row of the grid with a 1.48.066 with Chris Needham and Nick Robinson lining up in fifth and sixth places respectively. Mark Terry re-enters the F3 Cup fold after an eventful weekend last time the Series came to Snetterton and lines up in seventh place on the grid with series new comer Alf Skeels rounding out the top eight with a 1.52.015 in his Renault Sodemo powered Dallara F301.
