New car announced for Wiltshire and Mark Bailey Racing in 2012

18/11/2011 - Stuart Wiltshire has confirmed he will drive a new 2007 spec Dallara with Mark Bailey Racing in 2012 F3 Cup.

18/11/2011 - Stuart Wiltshire has confirmed he intends to move up the F3 Cup grid next season after agreeing to drive a 2007 spec Dallara with Mark Bailey Racing in 2012.

The team, run by former racer Mark Bailey, entered the Dallara F306 in the final round of the season at the Cheshire circuit for Essex racer Wiltshire in a bid to gather valuable information to help next year's campaign. Running in the Guest class, Wiltshire qualified inside the top ten before capping a solid debut for the car by finishing eighth in race one and sixth in race two, his third top-six finish of the year.

It was the first time a 2007-specification F3 car competed in the F3 Cup following the announcement of regulation changes for 2012 and Wiltshire has welcomed the alterations in the belief that it should make him far more competitive. Having now built up some crucial mileage with the new-spec car, the 46-year old is looking forward to making a bigger impression in the F3 Cup next year.

Wiltshire said: "I am so excited about 2012. This season was the best set of circuits I ever raced and believe we have better still to look forward to in 2012.

"I am looking forward to improving the new 306, its stripped ready for a new livery, motors off to Spain for rebuild, with a programme of testing starting February. I need to get comfortable in the car. Mark Bailey Racing have got a big job ahead of them."

Earlier in the year, team boss Bailey hinted he was hopeful that his team would remain a part of the F3 Cup for the foreseeable future and they are the first outfit to purchase a new car for next season.
