21/05/2012 - Former British Formula 3 champion and sportscar star Robbie Kerr has joined F3 Cup team Mark Bailey Racing in a coaching capacity for two of their drivers.

After winning the British F3 title in 2002, Leicestershire's Kerr has plenty of valuable experience to offer and has been helping MBR drivers Benjamin Harvey and Stuart Wiltshire in their quest to become the first F3 Cup champion. The single seater ace joined up with the Chippenham based team, who run Harvey, Wiltshire, Nick Robinson and Frank Thomas, at Silverstone for the last round of the championship.

He said: "I've been doing a bit of driver coaching and got asked to help Ben Harvey and Stuart Wiltshire down at Mark Bailey Racing while racing LMP2 with ADR Delta and we are currently leading the World Endurance Championship. It's nice to keep things realistic at the end of the day and be back in club racing.

"Stuart and Ben are slowly improving and they are making good steps forward. They have just got to convert it from practice into qualifying."

Kerr, who has enjoyed an impressive career in motorsport which includes race wins in A1GP and a podium finish at the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours, admitted he was impressed with the new look F3 Cup championship.

He added: "The F3 Cup is getting bigger and bigger and it's good to just see the old F3 cars back out and racing. I hope people enjoy driving them and seeing them race."
