Ussi: "A win at Anglesey would be emotional"

07/09/12 - Gino Ussi eager to impress and secure emotional win at Anglesey.

07/09/12 - F3 Cup title contender Gino Ussi admitted securing his maiden win at the his Grays Motorsport team's local circuit of Anglesey would be an "emotional" and "fantastic" achievement. 

The Italian racer, who is tied third in championship standings, has been a title contender from the start of the campaign at Oulton Park but is yet to stand on the top step of the podium. Ussi heads into this Saturday's as the F3 Cup's in-form driver after finishing third and second in the last two races at Brands Hatch GP, which could be crucial as the championship motors towards its climax. 

Victory remains an unfulfilled goal this season and many of the paddock believe he is the man to beat around Anglesey. Ussi is quick to shy away from the statement but is feeling confident about his chances come the races and described achieving a win here as emotional.

He said: I don't know if I am the one to watch. I don't usually take any notice of that and I've been lucky in my career because pressure has never really affected me.  I'm feeling good about the meeting at Anglesey as we have tested here previously and achieved some good results. We seem to have a found our set up and come into form at the right time.

"This weekend will be a great chance for me to pick up some points and increase my championship hopes."
