Henry Chart makes F3 Cup switch with Enigma Motorsport
29/01/13 - Henry Chart will compete in the 2013 F3 Cup championship with Enigma Motorsport.
29/01/13 - Aspiring single seater racer Henry Chart has confirmed plans to compete in the 2013 F3 Cup championship with Enigma Motorsport.
The 20-year-old from Beaconsfield will join the MSVR-run championship in search of a new challenge following a season in BARC Renault. This will be the young racer's first experience of F3 machinery and he is looking forward to joining the ever-increasing grid.
Chart kicked off his motorsport career in 2011 racing in Formula Vee where he secured a fourth place finish from his very first race at Mallory Park. The result saw him gain a mention as 'best newcomer' in Motorsport News. Last season Henry stepped up to the BARC Renault Championship where he experienced aero packaged race cars for the first time.
Henry will drive an ex-Robbie Kerr Dallara F302 for Enigma Motorsport, a team who joined F3 Cup last season. The squad have earned themselves a strong reputation amongst the single seater fraternity with success in British Formula Ford and 750 Motor Club Formula 4, alongside four race wins in the 2012 F3 Cup championship with Linton Stutely at the wheel.
Henry Chart said: "This is a really exciting challenge, with the opportunity to drive some proper race machinery at a very high level. I hope this will give me a chance to enhance my racing CV. I am looking forward to challenging for the F3 Cup title and working with the exciting young team of Enigma Motorsport."
Tom Farquhar, Enigma Motorsport Team Manager said: "After our successful introduction to F3 Cup in 2012, we're looking to start where we left off and fight for race wins. Ultimately the aim has to be the drivers and teams championships, and with an exciting young driver like Henry onboard we feel we have a very good chance of pushing for these goals in 2013."
Chart has been testing during the winter but his first taste of F3 Cup race action will come at the Oulton Park season opener on April 1.
