Henry hoping to top the charts at season opener after positive test
05/03/13 - Henry Chart says he is feeling positive about the opening round of the season following successful test sessions.
04/03/13 - New F3 Cup recruit Henry Chart says he is feeling positive about the opening round of the season following successful test sessions at Silverstone and Brands Hatch.
The Enigma Motorsport driver, who is joining F3 Cup after a season in BARC Renault last year, is beginning to get to grips with F3 machinery as he made even more progress with the transition during a test at Brands Hatch on Monday.
Chart made the most of the sunny and dry conditions at the 1.2 mile Indy circuit and managed to complete several runs clocking up a healthy amount of valuable track time before the season breathes into life at Oulton Park on April 1. The 20-year-old is already starting to feel comfortable behind the wheel of his Mugen Honda powered Dallara F302.
He said: "It's different to everything I tested and drove last year and its only the second test so there is still a lot to learn. As each test goes on I'm learning more and more and we are learning as a team which way to go with the car. I think it suits my driving style very well and I'm happy with how things have gone so far. We have two more test days before the first round but at the minute everything looks good."
With just four weeks remaining before the first round at Oulton Park, Chart says he is having to try to curb his excitement and is eager to kick off his F3 career with a set of strong results.
He added: "I'm really excited about the first round and I have to keep trying to calm myself down. You have to stay so relaxed in the car to get the best out of it. Hopefully all things well we will be on pole at the first race. I'm here to win and I plan to win as many races as I can."
