Aaron Steele will make his racing comeback at Snetterton next weekend (25/26 October) in the final rounds of the 2014 F3 Cup season.

Aaron Steele will make his racing comeback at Snetterton next weekend (25/26 October) in the final rounds of the 2014 F3 Cup season.

Steele will return to Grays Motorsport, the team he raced with to 14 wins in 2011, including four wins at Snetterton. The Kent-based racer will contest the final two races in the Dallara F307 driven by Lee Morgan in 2014. The car is five years newer than the Dallara F302 Steele raced in 2011.

Steele's 2011 successes secured him a test drive in the FIA F2 car and also the Sunoco GRAND-AM 200 Challenge, a prize drive in a Camaro on the support bill of the Rolex 24 of Daytona.

Steele made a fleeting appearance in F3 Cup in 2012 with Omicron Motorsport at Spa-Francorchamps,, Belgium, twice finishing second behind Alex Lynn.

Steele, 25, said: "I'm looking forward to getting back out in F3 Cup, I'll need to blow the cobwebs off and work away the rust. It will be an eye-opener, getting straight back into an F3 car, but I'll be doing a lot of prep work and watching videos to get the circuit in my head again. We're going testing on the Friday because it would be a big ask to go straight into qualifying without it.

"It is a good opportunity to get back out, I was more than happy to dust off my kit to get my name out there again and rekindle some connections with people. You never know where it will lead; we're looking at a number of things for next year including GTs or possibly F3 Cup."

"Once a racing driver, always a racing driver so I'm hoping to be competitive. I am aiming to finish on the podium but anything could happen with the car, conditions and other things. I think it's a sensible aspiration and I'm really looking forward to the weekend."

Morgan, who will miss the Snetterton event, currently sits third in the standings after nine top six finishes in his class, including two podiums.

Rounds 15 and 16 take place at Snetterton on 25/26 October.
