Gale Force Racing will field a three-car squad this weekend (5/6 April) at Snetterton for the opening rounds of the season with John Ferguson joining the team's regulars Stuart Wiltshire and Nick Robinson.
Ferguson is well versed in single seaters, previously racing Formula Fords, and he's no stranger to Snetterton either having raced both Formula Fords and a Porsche 997 at the Norfolk circuit.
The Irishman will be experiencing an F3 car for the first time though, and he admits it will be a steep learning curve.
"It's been tough getting used to it because it's nothing like the Formula Fords I'm used to! I'm sure I'll be sore in the morning but I'm really looking forwad to it." Ferguson said after testing on Friday.
Mike Gale, team owner of Gale Force Racing added: "I'm delighted to have John racing with us this weekend, the aim all along has been to have at least three cars out. Hopefully John can pick up some points and we'll see where it goes from there."
Ferguson hasn't ruled out more outings in the championship, and he will be racing in the Dallara F305/6 owned by Belgian racer Frank Thomas this weekend.
The first session of the F3 Cup season begins at 11am with qualifying before race one at 15.10. Tickets for this weekend's opening rounds cost £14 on the gate with free entry for children 12 years and under.
