Harrison teams up with Omicron

Omicron Motorsport and Magic Motorsport have joined forces for the 2014 season, which will see Mark Harrison running under the Omicron banner for the teams' championship.

The Norfolk-based squad won the teams' championship in 2012, when Tristan Cliffe narrowly missed out on becoming the inaugural F3 Cup champion. The team ran Tony Bishop during that year, and Jay Bridger contributed to their points haul with a brace of second places at Silverstone.

Reclaiming that title is the main reason behind Cliffe and Harrison teaming up, but it's not their first collaboration.

Cliffe said: "Mark's obviously a talented driver; he's won many more Monoposto championships than I have. We helped him at the end of last season and his results picked up.

"We're pleased to have him running with us and I want to help him go quicker by helping with coaching, set-up and data. We'll keep trying to push him forward get him nearer to the front. I'm confident he'll help us to win the teams' championship as it could be the strongest pairing on the grid."

The last three rounds of 2013 saw Harrison return to the form he began the season with. A pair of fourth places in class at the final round at Snetterton steal fourth in the standings after the input of Omicron Motorsport.

Harrison said: "It just made sense to come together for the The Teams' Championship, especially with Neil going to Monoposto. I'm delighted to be with Omicron, and hopefully we'll be able to win the championship."

Omicron, Cliffe and Harrison will get their season underway this weekend at Snetterton, the opening rounds of the 2014 F3 Cup season.

Tickets for this weekend's meeting cost £14 on the gate. Children 12 years and under get in free.
