Henry Chart is aiming to build on last season's double race-winning F3 Cup campaign and expects to be in contention for the title, after confirming he will be returning to the championship with Enigma Motorsport.

The Seer Green-based former BARC Formula Renault racer will contest the 2014 F3 Cup championship with newer machinery in the Cup 07 class, swapping his Dallara F302 for the F305/7 last seen scooping a double win at round six being driven by David Scott.

Chart's last outing reaped his second win of the season, beating champion Alex Craven to the flag at the final round of the season at Snetterton. Only bad luck denied Chart the chance to add more wins to his tally, but the 22-year-old still managed to pick up six podiums from his nine starts.

Chart, who claimed the opening win of round two from Silverstone, said: "We've got to go into the championship looking to win. Building on last year's success when the car was working, it showed we had the pace.

"We have the newer F305/7 which should be more competitive. We went out in it at the end of last year and it felt good; it felt much easier to drive compared to the last car which hopefully puts us in a good position. We're going to get some help with the set-up and try and put it on a rig to get the set-up nailed.

"We made a big jump forward last year, we're in a really good position to go for the championship this year."

Tom Farquhar, Enigma Motorsport Team Manager, is delighted to have Chart signed up for another year, and is eyeing the title with the young charger.

Farquhar said: "We're really pleased to have Henry back with us for 2014, with the pace he showed and the race wins he secured last season we're confident that together we can push for outright honours in the upcoming season."
