Victorious Vernon doubles up at Donington

Kieran Vernon enjoyed a faultless run in the weekend's second race

Race Two of the weekend saw the cars take to a bright and sunny Donington Park circuit. At the lights it was Kieran Vernon who led away from Stuart Wiltshire and Aaron Steele, who made amends for his race one false start with a good launch from the second row. Daniel Tapinos was not as lucky as he stalled on the grid and fell to the back of the pack. By the end of lap one the fast-starting Aaron Steele had worked his way past Stuart Wiltshire to take second, and was attempting to hunt down Vernon for the victory.

Kieran Vernon continued to pull out a lead on second place man Steele, however the action further back began heating up, as fourth place Jacopo Sebastiani closed in on Stuart Wiltshire. The pair ran nose to tail for a number of laps until the Italian spun at Redgate. This left Wiltshire relatively safe in third place, Sebastiani dropped down to fifth place where he would stay for the remainder of the race.

Problems saw Matthew Payne pull into the pits on lap 10, while Trophy Class driver Adrian Holey pulled off at Redgate at two thirds distance.

A confident drive from Kieran Vernon saw him take the chequered flag by nearly 5 seconds from Aaron Steele, with Wiltshire completing the podium. Daniel Tapinos took fourth place edging out the recovering Jacopo Sebastiani.
