Dittmann Doubles Up on the 200 Circuit

Chris Dittmann took a convincing second win in the much drier conditions of race three at Snetterton 200

Chris Dittmann got his second win of the weekend as he lead from start to finish in race 3 for the F3 Cup championship at Snetterton 200 today (14 May), also collecting the 'Sunoco Fastest Driver' award along the way.

A thrilled Dittmann said: "It has been a very good day! It was great to be on pole for the last race, and have a dry start. The biggest thing for me was just getting off the line well, which we did, and then from then on getting in some fast lap times - and getting fastest lap of the weekend (1:06.572), which was really good. Towards the end the tyres started to go a little bit, but I think it was the same for everybody, and there was good driving standards all round. Really pleased to come home with two wins today!"

Second place Shane Kelly, said: "Quite happy with that actually, we got off at the start quite well, similarly to Chris (Dittmann), and we were keeping up with his pace in the first half. But then we started to lose our rear tyres a bit. Chris is not really a threat to us on the points in the Championship, so we were happy to sit in second. My tyres did go off a cliff a bit towards the end, which made life a little bit hard keeping Jacopo (Sebastiani) behind. But I was confident of keeping ahead, as long as we kept it sensible we could see it to the end. It's a good points haul for the weekend - the feeling in the team is good."

CF Racing Team Manager, Hywel Lloyd, stepped in for comment on behalf of Jacopo Sebastiani, who finished third. He said: "It's been a good weekend overall, especially in the third race for Jacopo. He had a good start, and held third for most of the race. Mid way through the race he was catching Shane (Kelly), and two or three laps from the end they caught a back marker, and that spread them out a bit, but up until then it was getting close between the both of them. We were all on the pit wall shouting for all three of our drivers, but between Jacopo and Shane now the Championship is looking close."
