2016 Champion lines up for new season
The next driver to be announced for 2018 is previous F3 Cup Champion George Line
George Line makes a welcome return to F3 Cup in 2018, and the 2016 Champion will be looking to improve on a tough season last year.
George joined the championship in 2016, fresh from MX-5 racing and immediately impressed in his first year of single seater racing. There were few races that year in which he finished off the podium, and despite a tight, season-long duel with UWR’s Shane Kelly, he clinched the title at the very last round by just a single point.
2017 had a slightly different flavour – although there were glimpses of his previous pace, including a podium finish at Snetterton, George was plagued by reliability issues which cost him dearly. However, a tremendous amount of work has been done over the winter and he will be looking to come back fighting and will certainly be one to watch this year.
With sponsor Camozzi UK Ltd., the Leicester-based driver will be running his Dallara F308 Mugen Honda supported by CF Racing once again.
F3 Cup’s 2018 season kicks off at the revamped Donington Park circuit on 21-22 April. Regular driver announcements will be made in the lead up to the first rounds, so be sure to keep an eye on the refreshed F3 Cup website and social media channels for all the latest news.
